L’illa Diagonal
A quarter of a century later, L’Illa Diagonal tells its story in a commemorative book that, like the city itself, transcends the fleeting and becomes legacy.
To mark its 25th anniversary, we developed and wrote a large-format commemorative book celebrating a unique project in Barcelona: the “horizontal skyscraper” that transformed Avinguda Diagonal and became an architectural, commercial, and social landmark in the city. Under the title “25 anys de sensacions / 25 años de sensaciones”, the book combines stories, testimonies, and historical images with contemporary photography, tracing the evolution of a space that has shaped 25 years of fashion, gastronomy, events, and urban life.
With 177 full-color pages, luxury hardcover binding, and a carefully curated visual selection, the book became an editorial piece that transcended the corporate realm to become a collector’s item. It was presented at a commemorative event that gathered personalities, artists, and the city itself, paying tribute to Román Sanahuja’s legacy and to L’Illa’s role as an icon of innovation and community. An editorial and cultural celebration that marked a milestone in Barcelona’s memory.
